“It makes me feel good to meet my subscribers”
On her YouTube channel L’atelier de Roxane, Roxane is followed by 4.27 million people. From June 7, it is on RTS 1 that we will discover her in “La surprise de Roxane”.

The general public got to know her in “The best pastry chef”, in 2015, on M6. Today is on YouTube that Roxane traces her route and presents her pastry recipes, but also her family life. Mother of three children, the 36-year-old Frenchwoman took up the challenge of hosting her own show, “La surprise de Roxane”, in which she discovers Swiss products, those who make them, and visits her fans to bake with them.
Who had the idea for “La surprise de Roxane”?
It’s a format that was created with several small brains. First there was mine and my husband’s. We started posting similar videos on our YouTube channel; then we met Bertrand Saillen (Editor’s note: director of Mediaprofil, which produces the program) in the kingdom of the web. He was a little disappointed that I only knew Palexpo, where the event was taking place. He said to himself that he had to find a project for me to discover Switzerland.
This is the first time you have your own TV show.
I have already done animation in France, but I never got my show, it’s true. I knew the work, but there the challenge is enormous in the sense that it is “La surprise de Roxane”. It’s an incredible pressure, it’s all on my shoulders, but it’s so rewarding.
Have you ever been offered a program focused on you?
I have already had the beginnings of discussion, but it was often projects in which I did not find myself or which were not successful. What I liked with Bertrand is that he really knew how to build something that looks 100% like me. There’s not a moment in the show where I think it’s not me. That’s everything I love: baking, encounters, products.
Is it important for you to meet your subscribers, to have a connection with them?
It is very important for me. I clearly suffer from impostor syndrome. I’m totally unaware of what’s happening to me and I’m like, “Why me?” I always minimize the impact I can have on people. It makes me feel good to meet my subscribers, and it’s beneficial both ways, I think. It allows me to realize that I generate happiness, and I think that’s great. It gives value to my work, because I lack a lot of self-confidence.
