If ÖFB team player David Alaba is fit, he will be considered a seed for the Madrilenians under coach Carlo Ancelotti. On December 17, 2023, the 31-year-old tore his cruciate ligament and will be out for several weeks – there is also the possibility of missing the European Championships in Germany.
The long injury break is said to have led those in charge at Real to consider that Alaba could be a candidate for sale in the summer. At least that’s what the Spanish transfer portal “fichajes.net” reports.
The club bosses therefore fear that there might no longer be a place for Alaba in the squad. Antonio Rüdiger and Eder Militao should form the central defender duo in the future. Real is also working on signing the 18-year-old French defensive talent Leny Yoro from Lille. That leaves Alaba with the left side of the defense, for which the “Royals” still want Bayern player Alphonso Davies.
Another point: Alaba is said to earn 22.56 million euros gross per year at Real – and is therefore one of the royal top earners. As the portal further explains, the 31-year-old should already have concrete offers. Including one from the Saudi Pro League and the English Premier League.
