Runner dies at finish line

A 30-year-old athlete died Saturday morning of a heart attack while taking part in the Brooklyn Half Marathon in New York.

The athlete whose identity has not yet been revealed passed away at the finish line, local authorities said.

The race, in which 20,000 runners took part, took place under a blazing sun with a humidity rate of around 83%, according to Fox Weather.

The Brooklyn half-marathon was held for the first time following more than two years of absence due to the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
