Russia Expands Its Attacks in Ukraine, and Putin Supports Bringing “Volunteers from the Middle East” to Fight Alongside His Forces

A human rights group and a lawyer said that during the past two days, the Egyptian authorities carried out the death sentence against seven defendants in two separate cases.

The authorities implemented the death sentences after exhausting the degrees of litigation against three defendants in the case known in the media by the “Soldiers of Egypt” organization, one day after the execution of four defendants in the “Helwan Microbus” case.

The “We Record” group, a group concerned with following up human rights violations in Egypt, said that the Prison Authority carried out the death sentences in the two cases this week and handed over the bodies to the families of the accused for burial.

The lawyer of some of the accused, Khaled Al-Masry, confirmed: On his Facebook page, the verdict was implemented, saying that the father of one of the defendants informed him of this.

Egyptian and international human rights organizations are calling on the Egyptian government to abolish the death penalty, and they accuse the Egyptian judiciary of issuing “politicized rulings”, which the Egyptian government categorically denies.

Death sentences in Egypt are carried out by hanging after the three degrees of litigation have been exhausted, one of which is by the Court of Cassation, and the death sentence is only imposed by the unanimous opinions of the court judges.
