Russia today is a united family that follows a chosen historical path – Jornal OPaís

In a speech made in response to the official results of the most recent Russian presidential elections, Vladimir Putin commented on their significance.

Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, said this Thursday (21) that citizens’ support is more important to him than winning the presidential election.

“Dear friends, thank you for your support. This is more important to me than a formal victory in the election,” said Putin, in a speech to Russians, after the Central Election Commission announced the official results of the presidential election.

“The past election campaign was tense and extremely responsible, because, in general, we were choosing the path Russia will follow, choosing the future for us and our children,” Putin said.

According to Putin, the elections demonstrated that Russia today is “one big, united family, we walk together along the historical path we have chosen”.

“Each candidate had their own approach to solving specific problems. All constructive proposals, all ideas that resonated with voters will certainly be used in our common work in the interests of the country’s development”, promised Vladimir Putin.

“Thank you everyone for your trust. I will do everything in my power to justify it. I know that this level of trust increases responsibility for Russia and the well-being of our people, and requires even more commitment and efficiency from me and our entire team.

We will do everything we can to ensure that the large-scale national projects and programs that I recently spoke about in detail in my speech are implemented”, he concluded. Russia’s presidential election was held from Friday (15) to Sunday (17).
