Russian and Ukrainian Bakhmut-Kherson Offensive

Russia continued its offensive on the 13th in Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine and Kherson in southern Ukraine, Ukrainian officials said.

“Most of the Red Army’s offensive efforts are taking place in the Bakhmut area,” Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hannah Malyaar said via Telegram.

In particular, he stressed that “the enemy uses the most specialized units there and relies on a significant amount of artillery and aircraft power.”

“The enemy conducts between 40 and 50 raids and 500 bombardment missions in Bahmut every day,” he added.

Meanwhile, Russian shelling in the city of Kherson, about 600 kilometers southwest of Bahmut, has killed two people, local officials said.

Meanwhile, the British military authorities said on the 14th that Ukrainian troops withdrew from part of the Bakhmut frontline as the Russian army’s fierce offensive continued for the second day.

The British military authorities explained through daily situational information that day that the Ukrainian forces “retreated in an orderly manner from the positions they had to give up” and that “they are still defending the area west of the village.”

“We are ready,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address. “We are waiting for the arms delivery promised by our partners.”
