Russian Media Figures Fined for Violating Foreign Agent Law: Latest Updates and News

The Presnensky Court of Moscow fined the founder of the Dozhd TV channel Natalya Sindeeva* and journalist Yulia Latynina*. They violated the law on foreign agents.

Latynina* was fined for the absence of a foreign agent badge when publishing on social networks for the maximum amount of 50 thousand rubles, clarifies RIA Novosti.

Sindeeva* was also fined under Part 4 of Art. 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Production of materials by a foreign agent using the Internet without indicating that these materials were produced by a foreign agent”), reports TASS. But the fine amounted to 40 thousand rubles.

Both violators were included in the Ministry of Justice’s list of individual foreign agents back in 2022.

As reported EADaily, previously foreign agent Dmitry Bykov* was fined for participating in the activities of an undesirable organization. It was not specified which organization Bykov* is involved in, but the fine amounted to 10 thousand rubles.
