Ryan Regez won the general classification of the World Cup at the Veysonnaz event. After missing the boat in the final, the Bernese finished eighth in the race, won by Sweden’s David Mobaerg. This eighth place for Regez, far from his usual standards, was nevertheless enough to allow him to take over the big globe; his closest pursuer in the general classification, the French Terence Tchniknavorian, fell in the round of 16.

With this title, Ryan Regez signs the perfect season, he who had already been crowned Olympic champion in Beijing, earlier in the winter. At 29, this is his first overall World Cup victory.

Fanny Smith third

For women, the podium was exactly the same as at the Olympic Games: Sweden’s Sandra Näslund finished ahead of Canada’s Marielle Thompson and Vaudoise Fanny Smith. In the general classification, Fanny Smith is in second place, behind the inevitable Sandra Näslund.
