SA vs IND | Shardul Thakur named ‘Wonder Boy’ of India in Wanderers; Own handful of achievements – News18 Malayalam

Johannesburg: Indian cricketer Shardul Thakur became the ‘Wonder Boy’ of India with his medium pace balls at the Green Ground in Wanderers. The Indian medium pacer, who took seven wickets for South Africa in the first innings of the second Test between South Africa and India (SA vs IND), holds a handful of records.

Shardul single-handedly knocked South Africa out as India’s strike bowlers Jaspreet Bumra and Mohammad Shami struggled to find wickets. He also holds the record for the best bowling performance by an Indian bowler against South Africa in a match.

Shardul took seven wickets for 61 runs in 17.5 overs in the first innings against South Africa in the Wanderers’ Test, surpassing R Ashwin’s record of 66 for seven in the 2015-2016 Test against South Africa in Nagpur.
