Saint-Laurent: a gathering that degenerated leaves two wounded by bullets

A rally taking place in the industrial zone of the borough of Saint-Laurent, in Montreal, degenerated and injured two people with gunshot wounds on Sunday morning.

Police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) were informed around 4 a.m. of the altercation taking place on Hickmore Street, near Merizzi Street. When they arrive, they discover a first victim injured by a projectile from a firearm, a 20-year-old man. He was taken back to a hospital center and his state of health is currently unknown to the SPVM police officers.

A second victim, also 20 years old, went by herself to a hospital. “His life is not in danger,” confirmed SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

A perimeter was erected on the scene of the event to allow investigators to better understand the circumstances of it. Witnesses will be interviewed in the coming hours.
