Salihamidzic on De Ligt transfer poker: “We have to be patient”

FC Bayern would like to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus Turin. Munich have already made an initial offer for the Dutchman, but an agreement with Juve is still pending. Hasan Salihamidzic has now commented on the current situation in transfer poker surrounding the 22-year-old.

The sporting director of Munich was personally in Turin at the beginning of the week to convey the Bayern offer to those responsible at Juve. The Bosnian commented on the previous talks with Juventus as follows: “It was important to me that we sat down at the table with those responsible Arrivabene, Cherubini and Pavel Nedved. I was there as a player for four years and have a good relationship with the club,” he said in conversation with the “BILD” podcast “Bayern Insider”.

“Let us surprise”

Salihamidzic indicated that there will be no quick conclusion: “We have had two talks, now we have to be patient and see what happens. I can’t say much more. Let’s be surprised, we’re working on it.” The chances that de Ligt will travel to the USA with Bayern next week are rather slim.

According to rumours, Bayern offered 60 million euros plus ten million euros in bonus payments for De Ligt. However, Juve are demanding at least 80 million euros. According to reports, the two clubs are still in constant contact. According to current media reports, the Munich team is already preparing a new offer for the central defender.

FCB has already clarified everything with the player himself. Accordingly, a 5-year contract has been agreed. The Dutch national player is expected to earn almost 18 million euros per season with the record champions. De Ligt is considered an absolute dream candidate for Bayern to strengthen their central defense. Bayern were already interested in the defender in 2019 when he switched from Ajax to Juve.
