Salman Rushdie “is recovering” and gives up his ventilator two days after he was stabbed

Two days after the stabbing, British writer Salman Rushdie began to recover, according to what his agent announced on Sunday in a statement, and what was later confirmed by his son Zafar, who said that he still adheres to his “stubborn sense of humor”.

This was later confirmed by Rushdie’s family, as his son confirmed that his family feels “very comfortable” for giving up his breathing apparatus, noting that the British writer adheres to his “stubborn sense of humor”.

“We are very relieved that he gave up his ventilator yesterday,” his son Zafar said on Twitter.

And a statement by the agent of the author of the novel “The Satanic Verses”, sent especially to the Washington Post, included that Rushdie was no longer dependent on respirators and “began to recover,” noting that “his injuries are serious, but his condition is developing in the right direction.”
