Samsung BioLogics was the first in the domestic bio and pharmaceutical industry to obtain a ‘Leadership A-‘ rating in the climate change response category from the ‘CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)’.

‘CDP’, a non-profit international organization established in the UK in 2000, is carrying out a project to request disclosure of information related to responses to environmental issues from major listed companies around the world. Last year, more than 23,000 companies participated in this project. Samsung BioLogics received a ‘Management (B)’ grade in last year’s evaluation, but was upgraded one level this year.

Samsung BioLogics participated in CDP for the first time in the domestic pharmaceutical and bio industry in 2021, and received a management grade equivalent to the second top grade in the first year of evaluation.

CDP evaluation is used by global pharmaceutical companies such as GSK, AstraZeneca, and Novartis as an indicator to determine the company’s level of response to climate change.

Samsung BioLogics aims to achieve Net Zero by 2050 by reducing greenhouse gases by reducing workplace energy and converting to renewable energy, participating in global initiatives such as RE100, Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), and making its supply chain carbon neutral. We were recognized for our efforts to continuously strengthen support and management. Samsung BioLogics continued its activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including replacing solar power generation facilities and high-efficiency boilers and establishing a factory energy monitoring system (FEMS). In addition, we are in the process of upgrading our supply chain response policies, such as conducting ESG agreement ceremonies with suppliers and establishing sustainable product purchasing policies.

Samsung BioLogics plans to strengthen its supply chain ESG evaluation and expand its partner support activities in the future.
