Samir Geagea: A Call for Action and Unity in Lebanon – Achieving Actual Change and Building a Better Future

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, confirmed in farewell to Pascal Suleiman that “for anyone who asks, ‘What now?’ the answer is, ‘At a time of danger, there are forces,’ and the confrontation continues.”

He said: “Our confrontation is not for revenge or reaction, and it is not sectarian, regional or ethnic, but rather to move from the painful and bitter reality to the hoped-for reality.”
He continued, “Our confrontation with all honorable Lebanese continues, so that we are not exposed to a new war every 5 or 10 years, and so that we are not ashamed of our Lebanese passport in front of the world, and so that we do not remain ‘branded’ as the country of terrorism and Captagon, and so that assassination, killing, and kidnapping operations do not continue, as happened with Pascal.”
He added: Our confrontation will continue until we have well-known and controlled borders. “It is not as simple as a car of criminals carrying a human body to cross between Lebanon and Syria.”

He stressed that “confronting us so that our decision remains in our hands” is not one day at a time, and we face our situation with war, only the first and only the last, with a decision that I do not know from whom and from where it was drawn and will bring upon us “more and more woe and devastation that Lebanon does not need and has no interest in.”

He stressed that “no one bets on our disappointment or fatigue. We will not despair, we will not get tired, we will not surrender, and we will not forget.”

Geagea concluded, “Our path is not easy, and we will walk it hand in hand to reach actual change. Our guards are not sleepy, nor will they be, and we are not afraid of anything. No treachery will hinder us, no matter how difficult the path is.”
