Last summer, Samsung launched its latest wireless headphones dated, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. The main interest of these headphones was to use the active noise reduction and the dual transducer system of the Galaxy Buds Pro, but at a lower price. The headphones were indeed launched at 149 euros and can now be found for less than 100 euros.

Nevertheless, almost a year after their marketing, Samsung still has not launched new models. While we could have expected a Buds Pro 2 version this winter, it seems that the manufacturer is not ready to unveil new wireless headphones before the launch of its range. Galaxy Z Flip 4 et Galaxy Z Fold 4, this summer. Until then, Samsung nevertheless continues to decline its headphones with new variants.

The website SamMobile has indeed discovered that Samsung was going to launch, in South Korea, a special edition of its Galaxy Buds 2. These are headphones and their case, but accompanied by a shell of a particular kind: a Poké Ball. In partnership with Nintendo, Samsung thus offers headphones supplied with a Poké Ball-shaped shell so that it can give the looks of Pokémon to its headphones. In addition to this particular case, Samsung also provides 11 Pokémon stickers that can be stuck directly on the Galaxy Buds 2 case. These are only eleven Pokémon from the first generation: Pikachu, Bublizarre, Charmander, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, Metamorph, Dragonite, Lokhlass, Eevee, Ectoplasm and Mew.

These headphones are already available on Samsung’s Korean site at a price of 134,000 won, or 100 euros.

Pepsi cases or old flip phones

These aren’t the only custom editions of Samsung’s headphones. The Korean firm had already launched, in January 2021, an edition of its Galaxy Buds Pro with Samsung Anycall SGH-E700 flip phone-like casea laptop launched in 2003. In addition, you can find editions of the Galaxy Buds 2 on Samsung’s Korean site with shells that look like a Pepsi Max can or a box from the Korean pastry chain Knotted.

Remember, however, that these are only shells for the case and that it can therefore be removed without problem. Unfortunately, Samsung does not allow the shells to be purchased alone for people who already have a pair of headphones in their possession. These editions are also not offered by Samsung on its French online store.
