Samsung Galaxy A13 5G: 5G, but also compromises

The Galaxy A23 5G, recently made official by Samsung and tested by us, will not have remained the most affordable 5G smartphone in the 2022 range of the South Korean manufacturer for long. The latter unveils the 5G version of its Galaxy A13, dubbed logically Galaxy A13 5G. The smartphone had been seen on the other side of the globe at the start of the year, but it is now making its debut in France.

Regarding the characteristics, the smartphone is obviously very close to its 4G version. It also sports a 6.5-inch LC screen, but trades the Full HD + of the 4G model for HD + (720 x 1600 pixels), nevertheless offering a semblance of compensation by displaying a refresh rate of 90 Hz. compromises continue in the field of photography: Samsung has done away with the 5-megapixel rear module with its ultra-wide-angle and replaced the 8-megapixel front camera of the A13 4G with a 5-megapixel sensor.

For the rest, the A13 5G is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset (Exynos 850 on the A13 4G), which is flanked by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, with support for a card microSD as needed. The device remains powered by a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 15 W charging and, on the photo side, the main 50 megapixel module (wide-angle f / 1.8) and the two 2 megapixel sensors remain. each, dedicated to macro and depth measurement.

Despite the compromises made by the Galaxy A13 5G, its starting price is set at €50 more than its elder when it was released, i.e. €249. It’s available in black or blue and comes bundled with three months of Spotify Premium as well as two months of access to YouTube Premium.
