Samuel L. Jackson, ubiquitous for several decades, is one of the most talented actors of his generation. Now 74 years old, the American has not lost his superb, and continues to chain projects. As proof, here he is on the poster of Secret Invasion, the new Marvel series so awaited by lovers of the universe.
A timely project
In a long interview given to journalists from the famous magazine Rolling Stones, the actor is asked if he is, or not, at the origin of the famous project – or, rather, if he was the one who asked Marvel to find him a top score. With an unparalleled frankness, the star retorts that it was not the case at all, and takes the opportunity to make a confidence to say the least amusing.
My biggest concern with Marvel was keeping them from killing me.
In the same vein, Samuel L. Jackson remembers that, during each phone call from the company, he thought each time that he was going to be told of his imminent death. A prospect that enchanted the actor very little, who readily admits “enjoying the job”. Having fun slipping into the skin of the famous Nick Fury, he had no desire to see the adventure end in such a good way… The American was soon asked about one of his playing partners, who also happens to be one of his friends in town. It’s Brie Larson, who lends her features to the super-powerful Captain Marvel. L. Jackson also plays alongside him in the feature film of the same name, and returns, for the occasion, to the attacks of which his comrade was the victim.
Unjustified bullying
At the time of the release of the film centered on the protagonist – and after… -, the star of Room has been the target of many hateful messagesfrom sexist fans.
She’s not going to let that stuff destroy her.
Samuel L. Jackson confides, with certain firmness, that his friend is a whole and real person. He uses it to clash the sadly famous incels – namely the involuntary celibates -, who, according to him, attack women of character, or, more generally, those who express opinions, in particular feminists.
Rave about Larson, he also slips that it was he who advised him to accept the role of Captain Marvel !
A beautiful story of friendship
The actor explains that he met the actress on the set of Kong : Skull Island, an altogether unobvious experience, which brought them closer to each other. Subsequently, Samuel L. Jackson, seeing his new friend trying to recruit a star for a film she was going to shoot, remembers asking her the following question:
Why are you trying to recruit him and not me?
Shocked, the actress then confessed to him that she thought he would never accept ! A beautiful story, which resulted in a new collaboration, solidifying the links between the two performers.
So when, a little later, she learned that she was being offered the Captain Marvel score, the American made a phone call to her mentor, who spoke enthusiastically in favor of the project. Soon, the two friends will meet again on the screen, for the film The Marvels.
