This is the 15th final of Kerala in the history of Santosh Trophy. Entering the 46th final, Bengal have won 32 times so far.
In the semi – finals, Kerala’s opponents were relatively weak Karnataka. The hosts won the match by seven goals to three in a goalless draw in Manjeri.
On the other hand, Bengal reached the final by defeating Manipur by three goals. It will not be easy for Kerala to face Bengal, who are on the verge of winning their 33rd title.
