Twenty-five years after its creation, Sex and the City remains one of HBO’s most celebrated cult television series. On Tuesday, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis celebrated the show’s 25th anniversary.
Cynthia Nixon, who played Miranda Hobbes, shared a message on Instagram: I can’t believe Sex and the City premiered 25 years ago today ???????????? Before the show, I never thought something as big and wonderful as this could happen to me. And now I can’t imagine my life without it! »

Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, has yet to share anything on social media, but it was announced earlier this week that she would reprise her role in a brief segment of the second season of And Just Like That.
According Variety, Cattrall only shot one scene for the series sequel, reportedly in New York City last March. Cattrall left the franchise after retiring from film Sex and the City 2which contributed to the falling out between Cattrall and Parker.
The first season of And Just Like That addressed Samantha’s absence by having her move to London after she and Carrie (Parker) had a falling out. The two women communicate via text during the first season, and in the season finale, the estranged friends plan to meet again in person. In the second season, Cattrall appears during a phone call with Carrie.
