In Oristano the first official meeting with the political forces that participated in the elections of 25 February supporting the exponent of the 5 Star Movement in coalition with the Democratic Party and other centre-left forces within the “Largo Field”. At the center of the meeting were the balance of the future council and the appointments that will characterize the 12-member executive for which the president requires “competence and representativeness”.
Waiting for the last seal
The official results, expected for Wednesday morning, relating precisely to the proclamation of the elected representatives, will weigh on the division of positions. Both the votes of separation from the defeated Paolo Truzzu (which, according to an unofficial estimate, should be 3,061) and the seats to be assigned to the parties must be “certified” by the Court of Appeal. «The proclamation will probably take place on Wednesday morning – said Alessandra Todde shortly before the meeting in Oristano -, these are the times of the court, but we know that the gap has further increased, which is why today will be a day of celebration and work with the elected officials, to address the problems to be addressed as a matter of priority.”
A structure under construction
At the center is the structure of the future executive who will have to govern the Region. «Today we will work together on what awaits us, to be able to build a cohesive team that can immediately follow the problems to be faced both in the council and in the government – he added -. We will talk about priorities and timescales that are quick and on this we want to mark the discontinuity compared to the previous council”. As for the names: ««We are interested in having the best team, it is important to continue the discussion, it is respectful to compare ourselves with those who have been elected, today for example we know that a new M5s councilor has been elected and we are happy».
The “seat in the balance” goes to the 5 stars
From the still unofficial results, it would emerge that the so-called “elected councilor in the balance”, rather than from the Democratic Party, should be from the Five Star Movement. A fact which, if confirmed, would change the balance of power within the coalition. Because the Dems, the first majority party, will be able to count on 11 councilors against the 8 of the five stars.

The Democratic Party should be given three departments plus the presidency of the regional council, which could go to the regional secretary Piero Comandini. The president of the Sardinian Democratic Party Giuseppe Meloni could go to the council with the role of vice president and councilor for programming or general affairs. For the Dems, two other departments still to be decided as well as the names of the eligible candidates.
