Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists on social media circulated videos and photos from an incident that occurred inside an orphanage in Khamis Mushait, which sparked wide interaction.
In the circulating video clip, which was republished by the Saudi newspaper, the regions, a number of masked people and a number of security men entered the Social Education House in the Asir region.
For its part, the Emirate of Asir region explained, in a statement published by the official Saudi Press Agency: “In reference to what was circulated through social media, videos and photos showing an incident inside the Social Education House in the Khamis Mushait Governorate in the Asir region, a directive was issued by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, governor of the Asir region, formed a committee to find out the incident, investigate all parties, and refer the case to the competent authority.
The “Khamis Mushait orphans” hashtag topped the most prominent topics that Saudis interacted with on the social networking site, Twitter, on Wednesday morning, while the Emirate of Asir did not provide additional details about the incident.
