During the current period, local competitions are witnessing an international halt; During the international break (FIFA days), the teams compete in various competitions.
In Egypt, the league and cup competitions stopped; The national team is participating in the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The league stopped and Zamalek was at the top of its standings with 44 points collected from 20 matches, one point ahead of its second-placed counterpart, Pyramids, who played 21 games, then Al-Ahly third with 37 points, collected from 16 matches.
Some teams took advantage of the current international break and played friendly matches to prepare their players; To resume activity, but it was noticeable that two teams played friendly matches in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ahly wins against the Air Defense
Al-Ahly team won against its Air Defense counterpart 5-0 in the friendly match that brought them together, yesterday evening, Tuesday, at the Air Defense Stadium, under the leadership of general coach Sami Kommas, the leadership of Al-Ahly in the absence of coach Pitso Musimani, who is attending a training course in Morocco.
Al-Ahly played its first friendly match during the current suspension period, after losing the final of the African Champions League against Moroccan Wydad with two goals without a response.
The Al-Ahly quintet was scored by: Ziad Tariq, Karim Fouad, Hossam Hassan (two goals) and Ahmed Ashraf.
Zamalek wins against Telecom Egypt
Zamalek beat Telecom Egypt 2-0 during the friendly meeting between the two teams, which was held at Abdel Latif Abu Regeila Stadium, last (Monday).
The first goal in the match came through Mohamed Hamdi in the 12th minute of the second half, and Youssef Osama Nabih added the second goal in the 28th minute of the same half.
The two teams agreed to hold the match in three runs, to benefit as much as possible from the changes, as Al-Abyad played the match with more than one formation over the three games.
Gusvaldo Ferreira, coach of Zamalek, was keen to change many players during the match, to see as many of them as possible in preparation for the use of the distinguished among them in the coming period.
Zamalek is preparing to face Al-Dakhiliya on June 13, at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the 32nd round matches of the Egypt Cup for the current season.
Pyramids wins against Ittihad Jeddah
The Pyramids team played a friendly match in Saudi Arabia against its counterpart Al Ittihad Jeddah; As he won with a clean goal scored by his player Osama Galal.
El Gouna faces Al Ahly Jeddah
The El-Gouna team is preparing to face its counterpart Al-Ahly Jeddah, next Thursday, at Prince Muhammad Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in the latter’s stadium, but it will be closed to the fans and the media.
All teams continue their training in addition to playing friendly matches in preparation; To resume the league and cup competitions.
