Riyadh: The Saudi Food International Food Fair, which exposed the wonderful world of the variety of flavors in food, concluded. The three-day long fair at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center was inaugurated by Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Quraif. Around 500 companies operating in hospitality and food sector from around 100 countries participated in the fair with their own stalls.
Food security is one of the most important projects of Saudi Arabia’s ‘Vision 2030’. Minister Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khuraif said that the food industry sector is the most important among the areas that are targeted for great progress in the industry. The minister added that ‘Vision 2030’ has created a good example to identify the right economic forces and identify national needs so that Saudi Arabia can partner with the countries of the world by providing many industrial products including food items.
Hundreds of international brands like PepsiCo, Americana, Aljameel, Lactiles, Gulf West, Sierra Food, IFFCO, Nadak, Lulu etc. enriched the fair city. Lulu Saudi director Shaheem Mohammed, who gave a speech at the fair, said that Lulu has a history of revolutionizing the market by finding a market for local agricultural products and food products in Saudi Arabia. Shaheem said that Lulu is making timely changes in the market as per the tastes of the consumers and spread across 20 countries of the world, Lulu is at the forefront of reaching out to Saudi farmers and finding markets for their products. By 2026, Lulu will also support the Saudi food sector in every way to become self-sufficient to a certain extent without relying entirely on foreign markets in this area.
The progress of the farmers in the cooperative sector has been very successful. The growth in per capita income of the country also indicates that. It has already become self-sufficient in some specialty meat dishes. Shaheem Mohammad pointed out that Lulu Group is with the local market and local farmers in this regard.
