RIYADH: The Ministry of Human Resources has revoked the licenses of seven recruitment companies that violated regulations and did not comply with legal requirements. The ministry also decided to suspend the licenses of eight other recruitment firms pending a final decision after investigation into the complaints received against them. The Ministry has stated that the action against the institutions is for violation of labor laws which were found during the inspections and complaints investigations conducted in the months of August and September 2022.

The Ministry considers efficiency and reliability of the recruitment sector to be important. Therefore, this area is within the framework of monitoring and measures. Action will be taken if found to be in violation of the terms of the contract between the employer and the workers. There will be a move to resolve complaints and disputes that may arise between the parties. Ministry spokesman Saad Alhammad said the ministry has revoked the licenses of more than 400 recruitment firms that violated rules and regulations over the past two years.

It is not the policy of the Ministry to take absolute punitive action by revoking the licenses of recruitment offices and suspending their operations. It is to protect the rights of all parties concerned and to improve the services. Hammadi stated that serious violations will not be tolerated by the ministry and measures such as revoking the license and permanent suspension of the establishment will be taken.

He pointed out that violation of labor rights, trafficking in persons etc. are serious violations and in such cases, the Ministry will restore the rights of citizens and workers of the country using the Bank Guarantee of the Recruitment Office.
