Saudi steps up action against terrorism: 1.5 crore contents removed from online

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia steps up action against terrorism. Saudi Arabia to remove 1.5 crore terrorist content from online by 2022 Saudi Arabia also removed 6,824 online channels that propagated the same idea.

The Global Center for Countering Extremist Ideology (ITIDAL) has taken action in this regard. The action is in collaboration with Telegram.

Most of the removed content belonged to 3 organizations, Al-Qaeda IS and Tahrir Al-Sham. Out of this 41.72 lakh content and 2654 channels belong to ISIS. The figures show that 36.96 lakh content and 703 channels belonged to Tahrir al-Sham and 6.25 lakh content and 259 channels belonged to Al-Qaeda.

Among those removed were audio and visual messages in Arabic and PDF content. Officials added that these were removed to prevent people from being exploited through social media.
