Save Lives at the Soultzmatt Blood Drive’s 20th Anniversary

Marking two decades of mobilization, the Amicale des donneurs de sang de la Vallée noble is partnering with the Établissement français du sang to host a special anniversary blood drive at the Paradis des Sources in Soultzmatt on Monday, November 16, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., as blood reserves grow ever lower.

For twenty years, this local blood donor association has worked to attract as many donors as possible to each of its collections. The upcoming milestone event comes as the association continues its mission to promote blood donation, raise public awareness and mobilize a maximum of donors, with an unchanged objective: helping to save lives.

Two Decades of Family Legacy and Community Mobilization

The organization of the Soultzmatt drive is rooted in multi-generational family commitment. Roland Ulrich, the grandfather, originally coordinated blood collections at a local textile factory alongside the Red Cross. In 2006, Laurent Ulrich—father of the current president—formalized this grassroots effort by establishing the Amicale des donneurs de sang de la Vallée noble at the request of the EFS/UD68, with a group of friends and close relations.

Following Laurent’s passing, his children Chloé and Loïc took over, supported by a close-knit and committed team of volunteers. Their arrival has coincided with an increase in the presence of young people at the collections. This multi-generational transmission has helped sustain volunteer recruitment around a single goal: contributing to saving lives.

Festive Backdrop for a Milestone Collection

To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the association has chosen the Paradis des Sources, an emblematic institution in the Vallée noble. Organizers plan an upgraded refreshment spread, a parade of artists in stage costumes, and a prestigious setting with exceptional décor — rhinestones, sequins and feathers will be the keywords of this anniversary collection.
