Sayed Moawad: Bradley’s reckless change is the reason for Egypt’s loss to Ghana

Sayed Moawad, the former Al-Ahly club and Egypt national team player, stressed the need to focus on the home and away matches against Senegal in the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar.

The Egyptian team will host its Senegalese counterpart at 9:30 pm today, Friday, in the second leg of the final round of the Qatar World Cup qualifiers, which will be held at Cairo International Stadium.

Speaking on MBC Egypt, Sayed Moawad said: This match is different from the African Nations Cup final, in Africa it was one match, and I qualified for it after 6 meetings in which injuries and absences occurred and was subjected to stress, and the final was played in abnormal conditions.

He added: We must focus on that our confrontation with Senegal will not be limited to the first leg here only.

And he continued: I learned a lesson since I was a player and I have never forgotten it, when we were playing against Ghana in the final round of the World Cup qualifiers, the first half ended with their 3-1 lead, Bob Bradley made a reckless substitution in the second half, when he involved Walid Suleiman in the center back Al-Yasser instead of Ahmed Shedid Kenawy, after which we lost 6/1, and our hopes of qualifying for the World Cup were eliminated from the first leg.
