Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel praised current number one David de Gea for catching up with his 180th career clean sheet against Leicester City on Sunday.

Against Leicester City in United’s 3-0 win, De Gea put on another good performance.

The clean sheet against Leicester City is De Gea’s 180th since joining Manchester United in 2011. De Gea, 32, is tied for the most goals scored in a tie with Manchester United legend Schmeichel.

After the match, Schmeichel

“great achievement”

and applauded De Gea.

“180 clean sheets is a difficult feat. There were two amazing saves.”

“De Gea, good job. Congratulations. What an achievement!”

Ahead of the Europa League play-off with Barcelona on Thursday, De Gea will be aiming for United’s most ever clean sheet against a team of La Liga players.

De Gea also performed well in the first leg against Barcelona. Both teams played the best match and became a hot topic.

There are many games left this season and De Gea is in good shape. Before the end of the 2022/23 season, De Gea will achieve another individual honour.

Well done, David! Let’s keep going!
