Schneider Electric Korea announced that it will participate in the International Shipbuilding and Marine Industry Exhibition (KORMARINE 2023) held in BEXCO, Busan from October 24 to 27 with its partner, Auxiliary Machinery, to showcase ship monitoring software and fire prevention solutions.

Starting in 2023, the domestic shipping industry is accelerating the decarbonization of ships by implementing the Energy Efficiency Index (EEXI) and the Carbon Intensity Index (CII), which classifies greenhouse gas emissions emitted during ship operation into levels.

Through this exhibition, Schneider Electric plans to showcase monitoring software to increase energy efficiency of ships, fire prevention solutions, and automation solutions to improve shipyard productivity.

Schneider Electric automation solutions include ▲fire predictive maintenance solution using thermal imaging cameras and Proface HMI (Human Machine Interface), collaborative robots to improve productivity in shipyards ▲Lexium Cobot, SIL3 for process automation within ships ▲ On display will be the Modicon M580 Safety PAC (Programmable Automation Controller), ▲Modicon M241 and Modicon M262 Machine PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for unit facility automation, and motor control solutions ▲Altivar Process ATV630 and △APM (Altivar Process Modular).

Schneider Electric energy monitoring software and fire prevention solutions are an integrated power management solution ▲EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME), a wireless heat detection sensor for fire prevention on ships △TH110 (Easergy TH110) and smoke or insulator These include a smart sensor that detects overheating early, ▲PowerLogic HeatTag, and ▲thermal imaging camera.

Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME) collects data from power facility infrastructure equipment such as digital protection relays, circuit breakers, digital meters, and wireless temperature and humidity sensors on board ships and reports the flow and status of energy in the form of a dashboard. is visualized.

Through this, you can monitor the energy status within the ship, identify devices with low energy efficiency, and make quick and accurate decisions on how to increase energy efficiency. It can be easily linked to existing systems and can be applied immediately without extensive equipment replacement, making it suitable for eco-friendly ships as well.

Numerous electrical installations are used on ships, and fire prevention solutions are essential to prevent fire hazards that may arise from them. Schneider Electric provides customers with an integrated management system that enables continuous thermal monitoring by connecting the wireless heat detection sensor ‘TH110’ to its software, EcoStruxure. The integrated management system continuously records heat monitoring data and provides real-time data monitoring and advance alarm functions through visualization functions.

Schneider Electric’s PowerLogic Heat Tag is a smart sensor that early detects smoke or overheating of insulators in switchboards and provides three levels of alarms depending on the fire risk. It also measures ambient temperature, humidity, and air pollution in real time and detects cable overheating by analyzing gases and particles generated from insulators in the switchgear.

Kwon Ji-woong, head of Schneider Electric Korea Power Products Division, said, “This exhibition prepared together with our partners is an opportunity to showcase Schneider Electric’s various solutions and products related to ships.” He added, “Especially as ships have emerged as an important decarbonization industry, Schneider Electric “We will continue to make efforts in various fields,” he said.

Meanwhile, the International Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry Exhibition (KORMARINE 2023) is a comprehensive shipbuilding and maritime exhibition held every two years at the BEXCO exhibition hall in Busan. In particular, as the shipbuilding and marine exhibition is held in Korea, the world’s strongest country with the No. 1 shipbuilding industry and more than half of the world’s high value-added ship orders, you can explore future strategies with the world’s top companies, and participate in the exhibition of Schneider Electric Korea and auxiliary equipment. The exhibition booth is located in Exhibition Hall 2.
