The Seven Sages in Ticino meet architects
During their second day of annual excursion, the Federal Councilors visited the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio on Friday.
The Federal Council visited the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio (TI) on Friday and met the local population on the second day of its traditional school run. The architect Mario Botta took the opportunity to retrace the history of the institute.
They also visited the library dedicated to architecture and art history, the largest university library of its type in Switzerland. Finally, the members of the government met the population, the Ticino cantonal authorities and those of the city of Mendrisio in the gardens of the academy.
The Federal Council’s 2022 excursion program was designed by the President of the Confederation Ignazio Cassis, with the aim of “highlighting the diversity of Switzerland”. The Federal Council thus crossed Switzerland from north to south and met the population. On Thursday, he had gone to the Rhine Falls.
