School uniforms would save a lot of trouble

I’m now an 81-year-old man, but I don’t consider myself a prude. What drives teenagers and young women on the one hand to show themselves in borderline clothing and on the other hand to cry out in moral indignation along with their mother when this brings about the expected results, I do not understand. Unless it’s what it appears to be: I’m signaling “yes” with my clothes, but mean “no” (usually). And it just seems to be a favorite sport for femininity to watch as testosterone driven males fall for it.

Back from the beautiful island of Zakynthos, while driving through Laganas (a resort that you should really only drive through at my age), I saw girls on the sidewalks whose bikini briefs formed a maximum triangle of 10 cm at the front and were completely invisible at the back . I’m pretty sure they weren’t Greek though. On the other hand, there are uniforms in the schools in Hellas (and not only there), which do not allow any competition between the pupils and the associated striving for less and less to arise.

If I’ve been saying for years that we’d save ourselves a lot of trouble by wearing school uniforms, I’m willing to accept that I’ll be seen as old-fashioned. But I know of at least two countries (I’m sure there are many more) where school uniforms are mandatory attire for students. And I doubt whether all those responsible in these countries are hopelessly backward.
