The football club SCR Altach has presented the second-best annual result in the club’s history. In the 2021/22 season, the club was able to record a significant increase in sales, as announced at the general assembly on Wednesday.

The Bundesliga club therefore achieved sales of around 10.3 million euros. Profit after tax was around 594,700 euros. This is the second-best economic record in the club’s history. Only in the 2017/18 season – when Altach played in the Europa League – were the numbers even better. At that time, sales were almost eleven million euros, and the sale of striker Nicolas Moumi Ngamaleu also contributed to the good result at the time.

President Peter Pfanner said on Wednesday that in economically challenging times it is more than ever a great strength of SCR Altach “that we have been able to put the club on a stable economic foundation in recent years”. In the past few months, the club has initiated a development process in the sporting area. “We are convinced that we will be successful in the current constellation,” said Pfanner.

return of the spectators

Managing Director Christoph Längle emphasized that the 2021/22 season was also characterized by the return of spectators. “After the difficult years of the coronavirus, we are particularly pleased that we were able to increase the average attendance to over 5,000 fans per home game in the past six months,” said Längle. This shows that the SCR Altach “offers an attractive stadium experience” and that the “sporting focus is honored by the public”.

Committees re-elected unanimously

The Supervisory Board and Committee stood for re-election at the Annual General Meeting, and both bodies were confirmed in office with no dissenting votes. Verena Müller was presented as the new face in the eight-person committee team. She succeeds Walter Weiss and will represent the women’s football section of SCR Altach on the committee. At the General Assembly, some deserving long-time helpers in the association were also honored.

Relegation barely made it

SCR Altach just barely managed to stay up in the Bundesliga in spring and is currently in tenth place out of twelve teams. The signing of former German world champion Miroslav Klose as a coach had caused enthusiasm, but after a bumpy start to the season the club management then had to deal with criticism from the fans in the autumn.
