Kochi ∙ The Lulu Group is preparing to inaugurate a seafood processing export center built at a cost of Rs 150 crore in Kerala. A 100% export oriented state-of-the-art center at Arur. The company also aims to export value added products along with processed marine resources. There is a special unit for this purpose. State-of-the-art machinery has been imported from Denmark.
The 24-hour center provides direct and indirect employment to 800 people. Both units can process 2,500 tonnes of seafood per month. Lulu hypermarkets in Gulf countries, Egypt, Indonesia and Malaysia are key markets. General Manager Anil Jaladharan said that the company is also aiming to export to Europe, UK, US, Japan, Korea and China.

Lulu Group’s export arm, Fair Exports India, exported fruits, vegetables, spices and fish meat products worth Rs 6,200 crore from India in the financial year ended last March.
