Sebastian Vettel “Pirelli’s F1 wet tires are terrible”[F1-Gate .com]

Sebastian Vettel says he can hardly talk about Pirelli’s wet tires after the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix.

The first two days were warm and dry, but Sunday’s final was as expected and it rained in Monaco. The rain caused power problems and caused problems in actually hosting the Monaco Grand Prix.

When the race action began, Sebastian Vettel struggled with the pace, although he initially needed full wet tires before switching to intermediate.

But Sebastian Vettel points out that it wasn’t for the Aston Martin car itself, but for the tires. He simply said it was “too difficult” at a venue like Monaco, and the same was true for Imola, who needed an intermediate in the rain before the race.

“I had a lot of trouble with rain tires. It was very late anyway,” Sebastian Vettel told F1-Insider.com.

“It was too difficult for this track, and even Imola was too difficult. It’s just a terrible tire.”

Following the initial delay to the start of the race, the action proceeded under the leadership of the safety car, but heavy rains that race control was monitoring caused the line between the track and the harbor to be almost blurred in the race, and the red flag was interrupted. It became.

Sebastian Vettel says the car stayed there and continued to race in the past, but there was no chance with the 2022 Pirelli wet tires.

“I remember the days I should have been able to drive in such a situation,” said Sebastian Vettel.

“But that’s not possible with these tires.”

“Rain tires are basically useless. They look good, but they don’t really do anything. If you can run in the middle, you’ll do it right away.”

Sebastian Vettel spent his last stint behind Fernando Alonso’s train, finishing in 11th place.

However, Fernando Alonso’s teammate Esteban Ocon was given a five-second time penalty after the race in a collision with Lewis Hamilton, and Sebastian Vettel was promoted to 10th place.

“At least we didn’t have to go home empty-handed,” Sebastian Vettel accepted.

“From that point of view, it was still a decent damage limitation.”

Sebastian Vettel tried to change his fate by gambling at the perfect time to switch from full-wet tires to intermediates on lap 7, but unfortunately “undercuts weren’t very effective.”

“We had to try something, but unfortunately the undercut wasn’t very effective,” Sebastian Vettel said.

“We did everything we could. Of course I was expecting a little more, but I’m happy that I got the points.”
