Turki Al-Sheikh, president of the Spanish club Almeria, confirmed that the transfer period has not ended for his newly promoted team to the Spanish League, stressing that he will conclude more deals before the end of this month.

And it was the first league match for Almeria this season after his rise to the League and ranked first in the second division against Real Madrid, the champions of the 2021/22 League, the European Champions League, and the continental super.

Almeria appeared as a strong team and gave the impression that it would fight this season to stay in the top flight, but Turki Al-Sheikh warned that the transfer market is not over yet, and he hopes to strengthen the team before the end of the transfer period on August 31.

The appearance of Turki Al-Sheikh in Spanish football dates back to three years ago, specifically in August 2019, after the Egyptian Pyramids, which he owned in the past, was sold to buy Almeria, who rose to the League during this short period.

Al-Sheikh told the “El Chiringuito” program that he enjoyed a great match against Real Madrid and that the team still needed to strengthen its ranks. Moreover, he mentioned that he has five or six star players ready to sign with them.

Turki Al-Sheikh explained that his team’s goal is to remain in the League, and this goal will be reinforced by new contracts; “Because the residents of Almeria know very well the difficulty of promotion, given that they have been in the second division for seven years.”

Next Monday, Almeria will play at Elche Stadium in the second round of the League.

The start was embarrassing for the European champion when the hosts advanced through the Belgian Largy Ramzani, and the Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team struggled until Lucas Vazquez managed to equalize after an hour, before Austrian David Alaba settled the victory with an elegant free kick a quarter of an hour before the end, to win Real Madrid the first three points of the new season.

Sports is a priority in the life of Turki, who was born on August 4, 1981 in Riyadh, where he was the head of the Arab Football Federation, and he belonged to the Saudi Olympic Committee, the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, and the Islamic Sports Federation.

He graduated from the Saudi Royal Court with the rank of minister in 2001, with a major in security sciences from King Fahd College, and worked in the Ministry of Interior until he reached the rank of captain.

In January 2015, he was appointed as an advisor to the Royal Court. In June 2017, he was promoted by royal decree to the rank of Minister.

Al-Sheikh contributed to the development of sports in Saudi Arabia, where he signed a series of agreements to organize major sporting events in his country, not just football. It was part of the agreement signed to host several WWE professional wrestling events on Saudi soil for a period of 10 years.
