As foreign sources reported, Alex and her brother Justin from the Russo family of wizards will appear in the continuation of the series, played by the same actors – Selena Gomez and David Henry, respectively. The singer will also act as an executive producer of the project.
On the Jimmy Kimmel show, Gomez commented for the first time on the return of the series to the screens. She noted that this would be a new version rather than a continuation of the old story.
“This is not a reboot. I think this will be a different version. Something very fun. I’m truly glad that the characters are returning,” admitted Selena.
The singer confirmed in a conversation with the presenter that magic will still be involved in the project. “Yes, I am the family wizard. I’m excited for you guys to see it,” Gomez added.
It was previously reported that the plot of the pilot episode will be built around Justin Russo, who will again be played by David Henry. His matured hero gives up his magical abilities and lives an ordinary life with his wife and two sons. But one day he will meet a young wizard who needs a mentor.
