Théo Tarissan lived with his wife for almost 70 years, but he could not be with her for her last breath.
The 92-year-old man regrets having been separated from his wife, Murielle, who was experiencing health problems.
The couple had been forced to live in different places for a year and a half since the lady had to be placed in a CHSLD due to health problems.
Mr. Tarissan was unable to follow his spouse, since he was still in good health and did not meet the admission criteria of the CHSLD.
This unwanted separation of the couple meant that he was not present during the last moments of his wife’s life.
“When I found out, I was here [chez moi]it was too late,” said the 92-year-old.
His son, who had taken several steps to change the rules, is disappointed for his father.
“He finds himself all alone,” he said. His wife is no longer there and they will never have ended up together, it is appalling.
