The producer price index for the “Manufacturing industries excluding oil refining” sector recorded an increase of 0.1% during the month of September compared to the previous month, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP) .
This increase is the result of the price increase of 0.2% in “Food industries”, 0.9% in the “Clothing industry”, 0.3% in “Metallurgy” and “Textile industry”, 0.4% of “Woodworking and manufacturing of wood and cork articles” and 0.1% of the “Leather and footwear industry”, reports the HCP in its information note relating to the Industrial, Energy and Mining Producer Price Index (IPPIEM).
The increase also results from the drop in prices of 0.3% in the “Automotive industry” and 0.1% in the “Manufacture of rubber and plastic products”, specifies the HCP.
Furthermore, the producer price indices for “extractive industries”, “electricity production and distribution” and “water production and distribution” experienced stagnation during the month of September 2023.
