This Monday, around 6:30 p.m., emergency services headed urgently to Place Régnier at Long Col in Mons. An accident had just occurred there. Several cars were involved.

The accident occurred just before the red light which allows you to head towards the center of Mons coming from Nimy. Four vehicles were stopped waiting for the light to turn green. But for a reason still unknown, the driver of a Mercedes pick-up did not stop and drove into the stationary cars.

The damage is very important. All vehicles suffered damage. The airbags of some of them even went off. Police officers, firefighters and paramedics attended.
Several injuries have unfortunately been reported. The most affected was the driver of the pickup. He was quickly treated by emergency services and was rushed to hospital in critical condition. The other drivers were only slightly injured.
