Hyderabad: Seven new faces from Kerala join CPI National Council. Ministers K. Rajan, G. R. Anil, P. Prasad, J. Chinchu Rani, Deputy Speaker Chittayam Gopakumar, Rajaji Mathew Thomas, P. P. Sunir and others were elected to the National Council.
Sathyan Mokeri became a member of the Control Commission. The number of members from Kerala has increased from 11 to 13 in the National Council.
With the approval of the amendment of 75 years of age for national and state officials on Monday, K. E. Senior leaders including Ismail were absent from the new National Council.
Pannyan Ravindran, V.S. Sunilkumar, N. Anirudhan, T. V. Balan, C. N. Jayadevan, N. Rajan and others are not in the new National Council. Pannyan Ravindran also resigned as the chairman of the Control Commission.
CPI 24th Party Congress will conclude today in Vijayawada. D. Raja is likely to continue as National Secretary.
