Today, Saturday, the Saudi National Center of Meteorology warned of thunderstorms accompanied by active surface winds in the Makkah region, including the governorates of Taif, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, Maysan and Al-Kamil until next Tuesday.

The center issued a “red alert” in the regions of Makkah, Adham and Maysan, and an orange alert in the regions of Al-Baha, Al-Hujrah and Al-Makhwah.

For its part, the Directorate of Civil Defense in Makkah called for the need to take precautions and caution, to follow the instructions and instructions of civil defense in such cases, and to stay away from torrents and valleys.

On Tuesday evening, the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region was hit by a severe storm accompanied by heavy rains and strong winds, which affected the residents of the region and caused damage to property and buildings.

Scenes spread on the media showed rainy winds and a severe storm, which surprised the pilgrims in the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and caused a state of panic. The Saudi Civil Defense raised the alert level to red, and called on citizens to stay away from water pools, valleys and dams, in order to preserve their safety.

The warning signals issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding natural hazards and disasters, and there are three warnings, mean a yellow civil warning (first tone), which means monitoring the danger and warning of its possible occurrence. And a red civil alert (second tone), which means that the danger has occurred. And a white civil alert (third tone), which means that the danger has passed.
