As expected, the Spanish first division soccer team FC Sevilla fired coach Julen Lopetegui after the 1: 4 (0: 3) against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. The Andalusians, who are only 17th in the league, confirmed this shortly after the final whistle. Lopetegui won the Europa League with Sevilla in 2020.
The dismissal had already become apparent before the game against BVB. The successor is said to be former Chilean national coach Jorge Sampaoli, who was last in charge of Olympique Marseille. Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be interested in Lopetegui.
