Barcelona.- Colombian singer Shakira and Barcelona football player Gerard Piqué gave birth to their second child last night at the Teknon hospital in Barcelona, according to sources close to the family who have informed Efe.
The baby was born at 10:00 p.m. by Caesarean section and both the mother and the newborn are doing well and resting at the health center.
The 37-year-old Colombian artist was admitted yesterday at around seven in the evening, amid great anticipation, although she avoided the numerous cameras that had been stationed for hours at the hospital doors.
The singer’s parents and Shakira’s brother, Tonino, who is also her manager, also went to the hospital and were closely monitoring the progress of the birth.
During childbirth, Shakira was attended by Dr. Carlota García Valdecasas, a member of the gynecology and obstetrics team of Dr. Manuel García Valdecasas, who also attended to her at this same clinic during the birth of her first son Milan, who recently turned two years old.
