SHARJAH, 8th May / WAM / Sharjah International Airport Authority will participate tomorrow in Air Cargo Europe 2023, the largest air cargo exhibition in the world, which will continue until May 12, in Munich, Germany, as part of its efforts to enhance the position of Sharjah Airport on the global air cargo map.
The authority’s delegation participating in the exhibition will be headed by Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah International Airport Authority, accompanied by a number of representatives of the authority’s departments.
During its participation in the exhibition, the authority reviews the most prominent services and facilities it provides to its customers. It also participates with visitors to the exhibition, through the Sharjah Airport pavilion, with the latest technologies and smart and logistical solutions that it adopts in freight and cargo handling operations.
The authority is preparing to hold several meetings on the sidelines of the exhibition with the most prominent decision-makers, pioneers of the air freight industry and experts around the world, with the aim of exchanging experiences and learning about the latest trends in this sector, in addition to discussing the development of relations with representatives of participating companies and institutions.
Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi said: The exhibition constitutes a prominent international platform and an ideal forum for business development and the promotion of cooperation and partnership relations, where elite representatives of the air cargo industry, actors and decision makers in the aviation sector meet. Another for us is the gateway to new markets, especially in the European market, pointing out that the authority is keen to participate in the framework of its endeavor to support its business and communicate with various airlines specialized in air freight and international freight forwarders in order to enhance the position of Sharjah Airport as a prominent air cargo center in the region and the world. .
He added: We share with the visitors our expertise and experience in the field of cargo handling and air freight, as Sharjah Airport enjoys a leading reputation in the field of freight thanks to its strategic location and the innovative logistical solutions it provides to its customers with high efficiency and competitive cost.
It is worth noting that Sharjah Airport achieved remarkable growth in total air cargo handling during the year 2022, as more than 170 thousand tons were handled, with a growth rate of 21.20%, compared to about 140 thousand tons during the year 2021.
