Manama> The Emir of Kuwait has reappointed Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah as Prime Minister of Kuwait. He was also tasked with nominating members of the new cabinet, Kuwait news agency Kuna reported on Sunday, citing the Royal Court. The Kuwaiti government resigned on January 23 after disagreements with the National Assembly escalated. Kuwait’s fifth cabinet has resigned in two years. The MPs had rejected the government’s report to withdraw the investigation against the two ministers. With this, the dispute between the government and the National Assembly escalated and resulted in the resignation of the cabinet. The National Assembly was elected on September 29 last year. A majority of MPs initially welcomed the Prime Minister as a reformist who had good relations with the government.
