This little visual novel tinged with point’n click is really nice. The difficulty of the investigation phases is almost nil, which can make it suitable for young children, to introduce them to the genre, but the action phases pose a challenge, especially towards the end of the game. The real qualities of the game are elsewhere: its graphics, already in a cartoon style close to the shorts produced for Sonic Mania or Sonic Origins, are really successful, with a particularly cute Tails in his Sherlock Holmes outfit.
Above all, the game is really well written. The interactions between the characters are funny, the investigation is rather gripping, and even the antagonist is successful. The game completely defuses the silly concept of “shitty friend” by exploiting very well the lore of the games without lapsing into silliness. The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog is an unassuming little treat, but made with skill and love, and free of charge. That is the demand of the people ?
