Sherilyn Guerrero Opens Up About Pro Wrestling Training and Her Father’s Legacy

Sherilyn Guerrero, the daughter of the late Eddie Guerrero, has been training to follow her father’s footsteps into professional wrestling. During a recent interview on the “2Hard2FastPodcast,” she discussed the physical and mental demands of her first year in training, managing anxiety, and carrying her family’s legacy.

Reflecting on One Year of Training

Sherilyn has been training for about a year and opened up about the taxing nature of the sport. Speaking on the “2Hard2FastPodcast,” she shared her perspective on the difficulty of the discipline:

“I’ve been wrestling for about a year now. I feel like the hardest thing is to keep going. It’s a very hard sport, mentally, physically, very demanding. And then, also, just my dad being who he is, that adds on a thousand layers but, honestly, I have loved it.”

Back in August, she noted that she had yet to have an official match, though she was excitedly looking forward to stepping into the ring in front of an audience.

Advice on Anxiety and Not Taking Things Personally

When asked for advice for anyone trying to establish themselves as wrestlers, Sherilyn advised aspiring wrestlers not to take things personally. She admitted that it is a constant battle to avoid creating scenarios in her head from the littlest things, which can inspire fear. She recommended that anyone dealing with anxiety should not let it hold them back.

Embracing the Guerrero Name

Regarding her future in the sport, Sherilyn Guerrero made it clear that she does not plan to drop the “Guerrero” name when she makes her debut. She stated that her family will always be a part of her that she cannot run away from.

“I feel like I’m able to be me and a Guerrero, and [there’s] a lot, you know, that took me to get to that point because everyone expects this to go a certain way, and I’m like, ‘No, it’s actually going to go my way.'”
