When she was auditioning for telecrochet, Sheryfa Luna was unknowingly four months pregnant. In an interview with Guillaume Pley, available since Sunday April 30 on the Youtube channel Legend 2000, the artist confided in this denial of pregnancy.

“You should know that in Popstars, I had my period, when you are in pregnancy denial, you cannot know it; I was still 4 months already, and I had my period, already, it was weird”, she said. She then explained that she was “a little late” when she arrived on the show. “At the time of an ordeal, I have a haemorrhage and therefore necessarily, they stop filming, they call a doctor and they tell me ‘it’s because you are under stress’ (…) They bring me back everything I need and tell me ‘rest a little bit’ we resume filming in two or three hours, here it is finally, I win all that, I go to the studio the next day.

The singer goes on preparing for her tour, recording her album, shooting a clip… She is particularly exhausted and therefore decides to go see her doctor. It was during this appointment that the specialist discovered that his “stomach was abnormally hard”. After an ultrasound, Sheryfa learns that she is six months pregnant. “Quite honestly, when he told me that, I was like, ‘Okay, we’re on a hidden camera’.”

But, no, the singer was actually expecting a boy. “My son was standing in my belly, as if he didn’t want to be seen. And his head was pressing against my stomach, that’s why there was discomfort,” she recalled. “You have to know the day when I learn this great news in the evening at 6 p.m., it’s the Popstars final on M6 and at 4 p.m. I find out that I have a 6-month-old child”.

Sheryfa Luna, 18 at the time, was still living with her parents and had not yet told them her secret. One night she woke up thinking she was going to give birth, but it was actually her child who had moved. “I wake up and in fact that’s it, the baby, it is placed correctly and I have a pregnant belly,” says the singer. The young woman was in a relationship with a man who was 20 years older than her. It is the latter who was also the hero of the clip of his title “He had the words”.
