In the final of the table tennis women’s doubles at the Hangzhou Asian Games, where North and South Korea were competing, the team of Shin Yu-bin and Jeon Ji-hee won the gold medal, showing off the world’s greatest power.
It has been 21 years since Korean table tennis reached the top of the Asian Games.

The table tennis representatives of South and North Korea met in the finals of the Asian Games for the first time in 33 years.
There was a strange tension from the beginning to the point where we couldn’t make eye contact with each other.
The North and South Korean table tennis teams also sat side by side in the stands and gave their respective cheers.
Despite the pressure of the North-South confrontation, world number one players Jeon Ji-hee and Shin Yu-bin did not waver.
Korea, showing perfect coordination, took the lead by easily taking two sets.
They were shaken by North Korea’s sharp backhand and lost one set, and the fourth set was the deciding factor in the final.
In a fierce battle where one point was lost, another point was gained, and in a 10-10 deuce situation, he made consecutive errors and won a valuable set.
South Korea, which did not lose its cool throughout the game, defeated North Korea with a set score of 4-1, giving Korean table tennis its first gold medal in 21 years.
The fantastic duo of Jeon Ji-hee and Shin Yu-bin, who resolved a long-standing grudge in Korean table tennis, hugged each other and shed tears of joy.

While enjoying the joy of the lively ceremonies shown throughout the competition, Jeon Ji-hee and Shin Yu-bin, who showed off their status as world No. 1, also revealed their prospects for winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics next year.
