Aluva: The KSRTC driver was brutally beaten up by a scooter passenger who questioned his attempt to overtake the vehicle on the left side. The incident took place at Aluva Mutta yesterday around 4:30 pm. The driver of Kothamangalam depot M.S. Jayakumar was beaten up. The video of the incident has been released. The injured Jayakumar sought treatment at the hospital.
Jayakumar is the driver of a KSRTC bus that runs from Munnar to Aluva. Jayakumar’s statement given to the police was that he was provoked by questioning whether the two-wheeler, including the baby, had entered the bus in front of the bus and was not causing the accident. The angry youth stopped the scooter and beat the driver.
In the video, the scooter passenger is clearly seen hitting the bus driver by approaching his seat. In the footage, he entered through the door near the seat and punched and kicked the driver on the seat. Despite attempts to stop him by those inside and outside the vehicle, he continued his attack.
